Description

What Is Regulation 20A and Why Does It Put Your Registration at Risk?

Regulation 20A of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 is a legal requirement that applies to every registered care provider in England that has received a CQC rating. You must display your most recent rating — conspicuously and legibly — at every premises delivering a regulated service, and on your website, within 21 calendar days of it being published by the CQC.

This is not guidance. It is a statutory obligation. The CQC can prosecute for a breach of Regulation 20A without first issuing a warning notice. Beyond prosecution, an incorrect or missing display is flagged as a governance failure during inspection — directly affecting your Well-Led rating and your eligibility for NHS and local authority procurement contracts.

Many providers believe downloading and printing the CQC poster is sufficient. It is not. The display must be conspicuous, correctly placed at the main entrance and reception, and supported by an internal record proving when and how it was displayed. Our pack provides everything — the physical displays, the placement documentation, and automated monitoring so your materials are updated the moment your rating changes.

What’s Included in the CQC Rating Display Compliance Pack

Your pack includes premium A3 entrance and reception posters, high-visibility window stickers, a desk display card, an A4 acrylic wall display, and a heavy-base acrylic desk stand — all produced to the exact format and visibility standard required under Regulation 20A. Your Digital CQC Rating Display Compliance File includes a formal placement log, an internal display checklist, and an inspection evidence record — the documentation an inspector will ask for when assessing your Well-Led domain. The optional £9/month subscription ensures you receive instant automated alerts the moment the CQC publishes a new rating for your location, so you are never caught displaying an outdated mark.
