1. About This Service

Welcome to cqcratings.co.uk. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and the purchase of any products or services offered through it. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full.

cqcratings.co.uk provides independent compliance support products to UK adult social care providers, including physical CQC Rating Display materials, digital compliance documentation, and ongoing subscription monitoring services.

2. Important Disclaimer — Independence from the CQC

cqcratings.co.uk is an entirely independent platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, connected to, or acting on behalf of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in any capacity whatsoever.

Our service exists solely to help registered care providers meet their legal display obligations under Regulation 20A of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We do not:

Issue, verify, award, or alter CQC ratings
Provide regulatory, legal, or compliance advice
Act as agents or representatives of the CQC
Certify or guarantee a provider’s compliance status

All official CQC ratings remain the sole responsibility and property of the Care Quality Commission. For official CQC guidance, please visit cqc.org.uk directly.

Our products are physical display materials and supporting documentation tools designed to assist providers in displaying their officially published CQC rating correctly and professionally. Purchasing our products does not, by itself, guarantee legal compliance. Providers remain fully responsible for the correct placement and visibility of their ratings.

3. Our Products and Services

3.1 The CQC Rating Display Pack

Our display pack includes physical printed materials and a digital compliance file tailored to your provider details. Products are custom-produced based on the information you submit at checkout. Because items are made to order, cancellations are not accepted once production has commenced.

3.2 The Managed Subscription (£9/month)

The optional monthly subscription provides automated monitoring and alerts for rating changes, ongoing compliance reminders, and hosting of public compliance links. The subscription is a rolling monthly arrangement and may be cancelled at any time via your account or by contacting hello@cqcratings.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

3.3 Digital Assets

Digital compliance files and documents are deemed delivered and used once accessed or downloaded. These are non-refundable once accessed, except where a fault is attributable to us.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are displayed in GBP (£) and are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated
Payment is required in full at the point of sale
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your card details
The monthly subscription fee of £9.00 will be charged automatically on a rolling basis until cancelled
We reserve the right to update pricing at any time. Any changes will not affect existing orders already placed

5. Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided at checkout — including your provider name, registered location, and current CQC rating — is accurate and up to date. We produce materials based on the details you supply. We are not liable for errors resulting from inaccurate information provided by you.

Our subscription service assists with monitoring rating changes, but does not guarantee real-time synchronisation with the CQC database. We recommend verifying your rating directly at cqc.org.uk ahead of any inspection.

6. Refunds and Faulty Goods

Printed physical goods are non-refundable unless they contain a manufacturing or printing error attributable to us
Digital assets are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded
Any defects or errors must be reported to hello@cqcratings.co.uk within 7 days of receiving your order
Where a fault is confirmed, we will reprint and reship the affected items at no additional charge

7. Delivery

Physical display packs are dispatched following production. Estimated delivery timescales are provided at checkout. We are not liable for delays caused by postal or courier services outside of our control. Risk in physical goods passes to you upon delivery.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, cqcratings.co.uk and its operators are not liable for:

Any regulatory action, enforcement notice, or fine issued by the CQC or any other authority
Any loss of contract, tender rejection, or procurement consequence
Any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from the use or inability to use our products

Our total liability to you in connection with any order is strictly limited to the purchase price paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

9. Intellectual Property

All original content on cqcratings.co.uk, including product designs, compliance file formats, display templates, and written materials, is the intellectual property of the operators of cqcratings.co.uk. Unauthorised reproduction, resale, or distribution of any proprietary materials is strictly prohibited.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any revised terms will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
